A standard curling game consists of ten ends, which are similar to periods in other sports. In each end, teams take turns sliding stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area known as the house. After all stones in an end are played, points are awarded based on how many stones are closest to the center of the house. The team with the highest score at the end of all ten ends is declared the winner.
