The type of animal known for having a long neck is the giraffe. Giraffes are the tallest land animals, with adult males often reaching heights of up to 18 feet. Their long necks, which can be over six feet long, allow them to reach high vegetation, particularly in trees, making them well-adapted for foraging in their native savannah habitats. Interestingly, despite having long necks, giraffes have the same number of neck vertebrae as humans—seven—though their vertebrae are much larger. This unique trait helps them spot predators from a distance.
